Release Day: Magic Rising Boxed Set
Today I'm celebrating the birth of the next book-child with A Dragon's Rising in the Magic Rising boxed set, and this time, we're with Baldr and Nanna in Carthage. This story kicks off the new series Dragons Series: Origins
I so enjoy creating historical fantasy, combining action and adventure with Norse mythology, historical facts and gods and goddesses. With this particular story we begin in Asgard, only to then head to Carthage.
Baldr is searching for his path, and feeling coddled by his mother, the goddess Freyja, he's questioning his very existence. You'd think living in a golden city would be paradise, but it isn't for him.
This questioning of his existence leads to its own repercussions, when his attention falls on a human woman, Nanna, who is the daughter of Hannibal the Great of Carthage.
And, did I mention the other minor complication of Phoenician gods, and a Roman goddess who doesn't like to be unrequited in her efforts of love?
Of course, that the Romans are about to invade Carthage is just another hurdle that Baldr will have to jump over for his precious flower.
Of course, it would help if Nanna knew Baldr existed too, right?
Baldr has the deck stacked against him in this tale of a god coming to terms with what it means to be Odin's son!
