The Cast of Characters -- Dragons series
Today I want to share about the cast of characters in the Dragons series. I have a feeling that this will be the beginning of the series bible.
Here is a snippet of what happened and how we got to this place.
In the beginning, the gods were situated in two races, the Aesir and the Vanir. There was a great war, and when peace came, the gods reunited in the Norse pantheon, under the chief god of Odin.
The gods are aware that one day Ragnarok, the end of the gods will come, and will be ushered in by the trickster god, Loki. Loki will be helped in this act by his children, Fenrir, the wolf, Lady Hel, the guardian of Helheim, and the serpent Jörmungandr.
As you can see from above, we have a Romeo and Juliet sort of thing going on -- as Jasmine is from the line of Odin and Freyja, through Baldr, and Erich is from the line of Loki. What will happen with these lovers when the stars are aligned against them (in just looking at their blood's history).
When it comes to Norse mythology there are several different sources used to create the history of the gods. Although this is a piece of fiction, many of the characteristics of the gods have remained the same in hopes of sticking with the popular understanding as to who a good is, except when it comes to that of story and the creation of my world. This is not a mythology primer, and my intention in creating this series was to once again present these awesome mythological characters, and breathe life again into their tales. Just as popular culture has changed the Norse gods for the sake of story, I have also taken creative liberty.
Hours have been spent pouring over research. However, for the sake of story, I have taken creative license with the gods in my world building, their background, as well as their personalities.
The next book in the series, A Dragon's Desire, is available for pre-order. Grab your copy and embrace the dragon!
A Dragon's Desire marks the second book in the Dragons series.
The third story, Hellish, can be found in the Make Time for Love boxed set, which is also available for preorder.
Stay tuned for more!
